Qingming Shanghe Tu is one of the most recognized ancient Chinese artwork know to the world. Painted by artist Zhang Zhe Duan, the painting depicts Northern Song Dynasty's bustling capital city of Bianliang - in today's Henan Proviince. Time is of Qingming Festival when the Chinese mourns their dead. In this particular spring day, the artist took a high resolution snapshot and bring us back 1000 years: along the Bian River, there are 29 vessels of various sizes, 73 horses mules and oxen, 20 some carriages, and woping 814 individuals of all classes, living amonst unique styled houses, bridges, towers, what people call "culture". Original is kept in Beijing Forbidden City Museum. This replica measures 388 x 40cm, or 152.76" x 15.75". Paper plus faux silk thickness is 0.5mm. Comes in a nice gift box.
